The festival itself raised $10 million for multiple charities and non-profits.<strong> </strong>Philanthropist Melinda Gates matched that, raising the total to $20 million.

Sydney Abad and Alyssa Karimi show off their nails for the festival, the first music festival the two had ever attended. "Obviously, we love Olivia Rodrigo and all of the amazing women and girls who are here,” Karimi said. But, she added, the fact that "all of the proceeds are going to<strong><s> </s></strong>these amazing charities — I was like, okay, I kind of have to go.”

Rose Lester, 21, from Oceanside, California thought about getting tickets once she saw the lineup, but what put her over the line was that her ticket fee would go toward donations. “That just like made it instantly justifiable,” she said. “So a lot of it was just about the cause and the support.”

Among the surprise guests at the festival were Sarah McLachlan and Alanis Morisette.

Lindsay Perrin (left), 38, shows off her bracelets. Cora Reyes-Castelloe (right), 20, recalled her mother going to the first Lilith Fair back in the ‘90s. “I inherited my music taste from my mother,” she said. Reyes-Castelloe was wearing a top handed down from her grandmother, who brought it from Mexico, and braided her hair how her mother taught her. “I feel, especially as women, we have so much of what we are and what we are told we can and cannot be,” she said. “And also on the flip side, a lot of our support is inherited. It comes with us when we come into the world.”

Megan Martinez, a 26-year-old from Los Angeles, shows off her buttons. “It was worth it to spend the money knowing where it's going, and also having this incredible experience with all these different people,” she said. “I've met so many people today. It's been wonderful.”

Californians Alisa Benitez, 20, Olivia Pacheco, 20, Aiden Hall, 20, and Reyes-Castelloe play a card game called Cambio, Olivia Rodrigo’s favorite. The group of friends respect Rodrigo’s commitment to a cause. “I feel, especially now with, you know, after the overturning of Roe v. Wade, is really when things started to feel super unstable for us,” Benitez said. "And what's happening with ICE and, you know, immigration law, in addition to female reproductive law, I think now more than ever this is such an important festival to have for all of us. It gives me hope.”

Megan Martinez, 26, of Los Angeles said her makeup and outfit were inspired by Chappell Roan, one of her favorite artists. She took a corset she bedazzled for Halloween last year, and added some flowers from the craft store before pairing it with a thrifted tutu. “I got a bandana I had, and I hot glued lace and flowers to it,” she said.

People traveled from all over the country to attend the festival.

Attendees leaned into the festival's daisy theme, including Sydney Abad of Los Angeles. She sourced some of her accessories from Amazon and some from Instagram while the flower crown was gifted to her by “a random shop that I hit up on Abbot Kinney” in LA. “There’ve been so many great outfits,” she said.

Asraa, Qanita, Asma and Fatima Ali — sisters from Michigan — also embraced the theme. “I love being modest,” Asraa Ali said. “Modesty is part of just who I am as a Muslim woman, and I also love being a woman. So I made sure the outfit is pink, pastel, springy festival, but also modest at the same time.”

Isabella Valdes, 16, came to the festival with her mom, Renae. “We did make the hat,” she said. “It has a special little daisy.” Of their attendance, Valdes said, “It's really important to support women and be at a women's festival to support women artists.”

“I just love that all of the proceeds were donated to like 10 plus organizations that were for women's health, like protecting women, because especially nowadays with the political landscape, I feel like we are kind of regressing as a country, and I'm happy to see an artist like Olivia seeing the importance of supporting our women,” said Isabella Sanchez (right), 23, pictured with her friend Julia Ruiz, 23.

Proceeds from the festival are due to go to Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, the Center for Reproductive Rights, FreeFrom, Jhpiego, the Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, the National Domestic Workers Alliance, the National Institute for Reproductive Health, the National Women’s Law Center and Planned Parenthood.

A Dolly Parton clip is seen attached to Lucas Colton’s crocheted tunic. “The tunic only took me two days, but the daisies took me forever!” Colton said. Olivia Rodrigo and Sarah McLachlan paid tribute to the late country legend onstage later that evening.

People tied their wishes to a tree at one of the festival’s installations.

Lauren Hahm of Irvine, California opted for an Americana-inspired look, wearing a straw cowboy hat and denim top. "I really wanted to wear the cowboy boots. It felt to me I was trying to channel Woodstock in a way, you know, just this very 70s-like festival vibes. That was my main inspiration."

Festival-goers Carolina De La Luz and Andie Tarabzooni cool off in the shade.

Lizzie Todd of San Clemente made a bunch of buttons for the festival, including one reading “revolution girl style now!” referencing an album by Riot Grrrl pioneers Bikini Kill, who also performed at the festival.

“I was obviously inspired by daisies and sunshine,” said Fatima Ali, who was wearing a yellow skirt and a white top. She decided to style her hijab “like Rapunzel themed,” she said. “So I put it like a long braid and I put daisies all over with a daisy cap.”

The festival went on into the night and, after it was over, Rodrigo <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DcsHtt1h6hv/?hl=en" target="_blank">said</a> that "seeing daisy chain come to fruition yesterday was the greatest joy of my career." She said it was an example of "a collective hope" and proved that "joy is part of the solution."
